Comprehensive Scoliosis Care in Lancaster PA
Living Well With Scoliosis
Been told your scoliosis is “just something you have to live with” and there’s nothing you can do except watch and wait—or consider surgery? At Life Potential Chiropractic, Dr. Tony Miller offers a different path. While we can’t straighten your spine, we can help your nervous system adapt to the curve, reduce pain and discomfort, improve function, and in some cases slow progression—giving you the tools to live an active, fulfilling life with scoliosis.
What You Need to Know About Your Scoliosis
Scoliosis is an abnormal sideways curvature of the spine—instead of running straight up and down, the spine curves to the side in an “S” or “C” shape. While it’s most commonly diagnosed in children and adolescents during growth spurts, adults can develop scoliosis too (called degenerative or adult-onset scoliosis).
- Uneven shoulders or hips
- Back pain and stiffness
- Muscle fatigue or soreness
- Reduced range of motion and flexibility
- Possible nerve-related symptoms such as numbness or tingling
Helping Your Body Adapt to Scoliosis
Most scoliosis treatment focuses on two extremes: either “wait and watch” (do nothing until it gets worse) or surgery (fuse the spine). There’s very little offered in between. Physical therapy and bracing work for some, but many people fall through the cracks—told their curve isn’t bad enough for surgery but still experiencing pain and limitations.
